Palm reading, whisper of the heart, brain cancer

I was visiting a foreign country with a female friend who was part Indian (never seen her IRL). We were inside a small shack and people were lined up to get palm readings. When it was my turn, the palm reader, an Indian man, blew on my palms and then looked at them. He correctly said I’m from Texas and that I would be going home tomorrow. A few minutes later, after he had finished reading my friend’s palms, he said, “I failed? How did I fail?” I guess he got hers wrong. I was watching Whisper of the Heart with people I didn’t know in a small, crowded room that had a couple tables and chairs. There may have been a couple of my old friends among the strangers. As the movie continued, I would occasionally explain something. At one point, I said it was about to get really sad, and then the main character got brain cancer even though that doesn’t happen in the actual movie. I then saw some kind of medical treatment in the movie that wiped away the malignant areas in the brain. It was a vivid scene.
