Gangs of Madrid

Second dream of the night, very complex. Somehow Julio and I end up in Madrid. We are adolescents at this point. We take a train to a neighborhood in the outskirts where he thinks we will find a place to live”Legazpe”. I do not know the metro system anymore, there are too many new lines and the stations and the trains are always full of people. Inside of the stations everybody has to follow the directions of designated guards. There is a system of lines and you can get kicked to the end of your line if you fail to obey. The people have to run home from the train stations before the gangs start fighting. There is one center of Madrid, one train stop. All the other train stops are the same. They are the center of the neighborhood and there are many similar, plain square buildings with many apartments surrounding the station. Half of the buildings belong to one gang and half to the other. They fight on the streets between the train station and the buildings. Julio and I live in the same apartment, a family has adopted us. They want to get him a job but he says he will be ok until it is time for him to go back home to the US. On the mean time he acts as a mediator between the two main gangs in the area. He can scale the walls of buildings like spider man. I am very frustrated because he treats me as his little sister although our bedrooms are separated by a wall and we talk to each other every night through the wall and play erotic games until we fall asleep. I have pride of place in that family, they take very good care of me and I work at a wine cellar. Julio takes me to work everyday. The trains are packed. One day I start talking to a very handsome young man with black hair who looks like a gipsy. He asks for my name several times during our conversation. He seems interested in me and I am just about to invite him to come home for dinner when Julio grabs me by the arm and drags me away. Apparently I was talking to the head of the rival gang. Everybody is poor. Everybody eats the same, pasta with tomato sauce. The dream does not have a clear end...it seems like a documentary on the life of people in these neighborhoods.
