Late for an event

Date: 3/8/2019

I need to get up super early to make sure I was there to welcome some guests coming in for an event at my office. I had a volunteer that was going to help me and we woke up super early to get there. For some reason I got held back but she proceeded to the office to wait for me. Everything kept going wrong and by the time I looked back at my watch so I could leave, it was already an hour past the event start time. I couldn’t help but think that no one was there to greet them and I was getting super anxious. But after a while I decided that I would run away so I wouldn’t get in trouble for not being able to attend. Of course, in real life I do have an event that I need to be at the registration desk for.
