Cops do not come to the rescue

My dad broke into my house at night while I was home alone. I locked myself in the bathroom and tried to call the police. The cops told me they were not coming because they were off duty or something. I panicked. I couldn't believe they were not going to save me. My dad had a gun pointed at me, and he shot.
