Alien Overlord

started with me and my mom outside and I saw something strange in the sky. we saw it moving and started running after it. then it crashed into the ground next thing we knew we saw a huge red laser. we jumped behind a building yet my mom got hit. Time reset right before the laser about four time and each time I could not save my mom. but the last time I got hit with it and absorbed the power. it ended up being a power to control others. the alien overlord was trying to control our world so I took the given power to take back control over his army. at some point we were in the same room absorbing things left and right and I got some tactical game advice from one of my units or people. the alien made me roll a dice (a d4) and I got two. because of that he said he was able to take a majority of my people instead of allowing me to actually battle him. obviously that was unfair and I tried fighting back. but it was fruitless. my tactical adviser pretended to change sides and I was sent into a classroom with a bunch of others under control. though I wasn't taken over yet. but I saw many classmates of mine. they all had screens in front of them showing their control status. I went over to a girl I used to like. she said hi to me. I walked up and flipped the overlord control switch on her to off to see if the real person was still there. and I woke up.
