gym, maggots

so my friends aidan, maddy, jen, carmen and i were at this gym, but a lot of the work out equipment were portals. an old man told maddy the first televisions were made in 2002, so aidan maddy and i head to the antique thrift store section of the gym. Maddys ex boyfriend markus shows up to help maddy pick a tv and radio out for the old man because markus is pretending to be an antique tech expert. i see cassettes and figurines in the corner and go to check them out. the figurines are still mostly covered in their ceramic shell mould so i have to really inspect them to figure out what they are. there are bears and busts of women and news vans (?). As i get towards the bottom of the pile the ceramic shells become mushy and falling apart, i realize they are full of maggots and my arms are now covered in them. My friends refuse to help me get the maggots off my arms and say we have to leave. we walk through the gym into the reception area where we meet the douchy LA youtube 20 something couple who run the gym. They are using carmens late mothers work out tips by throwing objects into a portal and then catching them when they hurtle back out towards them. i want to hate these people but for a moment i consider watching their videos on this. my friends and i head back home where our friends haydyn and violet are chilling in the livingroom. aidan and jen are apparently a couple who have been planning to break up, a voice over the PA announces that they are now broken up. Jen runs out of the room, the rest of us hug aidan, but he tells us 'ITS OK IM GOING TO FIND SOMEONE WHO ACTUALLY LIKES ME'. haydyn and i joke about the time that we slept together, and apparently i had also slept with my other friend noah in the past. (i am a gay woman) i worry about what my girlfriend will think.
