Car towed

I'm at this large parking garage. I think it's usually associated with a mechanic or other business, but now a lot of people are parking there because there's a concert nearby. I park there, but when I go back, the car is gone. I don't get super agitated, but I do say that I should press charges against the towing company for theft. Someone else says that maybe I was supposed to display my receipt from the business in the window to avoid getting towed. But that doesn't make any sense to me, so I still say that I ought to be able to press charges, even if that's the rule and I didn't do it.
