Marriage

I am Swapna are getting married. The priest is there to conduct the ceremony . I was against any fanfare. But the relatives won't listen. I wanted just an exchange of garland, that too only Swapna garlanding me. But the relatives wanted the priest to lay down all the rules and also penalise me each time I miss something. The penalties are to be pocketed by the priest as is customary. It was scary and the priest was salivating. Sensing my discomfort he offered me an all inclusive fixed charge of 3 lakhs rupees. It was way too much but had to agree. Once the ceremony got going I saw Amit and his wife come towards the mandap, smiling. I wanted to disappear. It was embarassing.
