Hidden Kingdom

I was the princess of a magical hidden kingdom. I had an older sister who was also the either the crown princess or the queen (Q). I believe she acted as the queen though she might have been referred to as a both interchangeably. Q and I were not only leaders of this country, but also it's protectors in some fashion. We were both magical beings responsible for the well being of our kingdom, and we were stronger when we worked together. I had a friend named Lucy in this kingdom who I was very close too. We had some kind of pact to stay together (mostly as close friends/domestic partners) if we didn't find anyone else to share our lives with. Eventually Q and I decided to leave the kingdom behind to go seek out help for whatever problem we were trying to stave off. We had to leave all of our friends behind but we felt it would be worth it. When we arrived at this new kingdom Q and I hid our identities and ended up in this court performance we we're supposed to put together on our own to preform for the royal ball. Those in the 'play' were lower level members of court (second sons and young duchesses hoping to catch the eyes of suitors). I was partnered with one such man (M) and we became very close though I still hid my identity from him. Eventually Q and I were found out by some Earl in the court and we were forced to escape back to our kingdom to protect them from some threat the Earl had made. Back in our own kingdom we decide for the safety of our people to merge our kingdom with the one we were just in namely by bringing our people through a portal to the other kingdom (I don't recall what specifically spurred this decision). We have to get through some challenge/obstacles in order to do this, but eventually Q and I return to the neighboring kingdom with our people, and I was reunited with M much to the frustration of Lucy.
