My name was Stormy Connors. I was a newer actress who had recently gotten some bigger roles in a few tv series. The series were each short. Only a couple seasons long. I had finished up work on the latest one. It was called "Racing to Nowhere" and was about an Italian husband and wife escaping their captors in a hostile American environment. I was given the role of one of the people who took them in as they tried to get out of the country and back home. My character had just been killed off after standing her ground and basically stating she wouldn't tell where the couple had gone. I relaxed in a chair on the far end of studio. I had finally gotten everything cleaned off and was getting my break. Another one of the actors, Jamie Matthews, had come and sat by me. He handed me a water bottle and smiled. I took the water bottle and nodded my thanks. "So how's it feel, Connors?" He asked quietly. "To have a death scene?" I asked him, making sure I was on the same page. He nodded, "Yeah. You haven't had a character get killed before. So how's it feel to do it?" I grimaced, "We had to do a couple retakes but the director seemed pleased with the last one." He nodded and held up his phone, "You should come audition for this newer film." I looked it over. It was going to take place during the Civil War and show off some of the spies during it. It sounded interesting. Jamie grinned more, "You'd make a great Belle Boyd. She was a spy for the confederacy." "I know my history, Matthews. Unlike you, I'm actually from the US." I teased him. He smirked at that, "Or you could come audition for the next show I'll be in." I raised a brow at that, "You wanting me in another show with you that bad?" He laughed again, "I enjoy working with you. You have a natural vibe when shifting between the moods of your characters. That makes it easy for someone like me to play off ya." We chatted a bit longer before one of the PA's came out to grab Jamie for his next scene. A few weeks later and I was back in the studio. I had started work on a different series. This one was called "Phobia" and centered around a slew of murders where people were killed by the things they feared most. The murders were apparently being done by a cult who was trying to cure people of their fears. I was brought on to play the daughter of a wealthy businessman who would later be revealed as the cult leader. Jamie was playing the lead detective in the murders. "You know people are gonna start thinking I'm sleeping with you if you keep hanging around me." I told him with a small huff. "From that behaviour I'll assume they already have." Jamie stated and hugged me anyway, "I told you that I enjoy working with you. I also wanna see you break outta your mold." I awkwardly hugged him back before stepping away. "Yeah I know. You said that in our messages too." "I know that feeling you have. My dad's a big time director and hella strict. A lot of people used to treat me like I only got my roles cuz I shared his name." Jamie told me and grinned, "Just like the jealous cowards who think my name is what's getting you further." "Isn't it though?" I quipped impatiently. "Partially. A big part is due to your talent. You have it there. Now we're gonna push it." He smirked and stared me down almost defiantly, "Tell me, do you think you can play this part?" "I'm certain if I get into her head well enough that I'll be able to." I told him. It was almost as if sparks were flying between us. My pride versus his mischievous and defiant nature. Jamie took my hand and pulled me into a quick kiss, snuffing out my fire for a moment. He grinned and stepped away. "Good because I read ahead. She ends up dating the detective for her con. I'd like to see you try and seduce me the way she does him." He teased, going right back to his playful nature. I groaned at that. "That doesn't give you the right to just kiss me like that, Matthews." He just laughed, "Maybe not but it was entertaining. See ya on set, Connors." (Then I woke up.)
