Adopted and returned baby

I stopped in at an adoption agency while out shopping. Fell in love with a tiny little baby girl about 6 months old and adopted her. My husband thought it was strange to adopt at our age in our 50s but didn’t object. Then I realized the baby needed to have diapers changed and fed formula and I realized I would be 70 when she graduated from high school and I told my husband I didn’t want the baby anymore. He said I could easily annul the adoption so we went back to the adoption agency and the Uber driver almost ran kids over who were playing in the parking lot. I had to wait in line and then realized I forgot the baby at home.
