Rising tide.

I was at work with a coworker setting up to run an order. We were missing some supplies so we couldn’t do anything and decided to go to lunch. The factory was situated near a beach. We went for a walk down the beach and set up a fire pit. We went for another walk down beach and came up on some rocks. Down below one could see sea life swimming and playing. All of the sudden I noticed an orca whale swimming under water and shoots straight out. It was a small one and was soon joined by its mother. We were awed by it and enjoying the sight when we realized lunch break was over and had to head back. We were running back and from the distance I saw the factory and I told my worker, I’ve run down this beach so many times throughout the years and had never noticed this place. Much less imagined that I’d be working here. Well we decided that our lunch break was well over and we’d be recorded as late and we didn’t have the supplies to work anyhow so why rush back. So we went back to the fire pit and noticed the tide had risen over it and put it out. While we were standing there it kept rising and before we knew it we were deep in water. We drove back home to get somethings we would need and my cousin was there. She asked what we were up to and asked if she and her kids could come along. I say sure and we’re just heading back and I’m thinking is it right? I literally abandoned work without notice. I then say to my cousin and kids, sorry but I have to go back to work.
