Gave my Boyfriend a Virus that Killed Him

I was out with my Mom. She was driving and I was in the passenger seat. She was talking nonsense and I suddenly realized she was drunk. I started freaking out yelling "You're drunk!! Pull over!" and I was terrified we were going to die. Also during this I was texting my boyfriend who was out with some friends at a sports bar. He stopped responding at some point. I made Mom pull over. I called her father, my grandfather, to pick us up and to bring me home. When I got home there was a huge commotion outside. My entire family was in the driveway where all our cars were crunched up and destroyed in a heap. There were police everywhere. I approached the scene. The police told me that our family somehow came in contact with an extremely deadly virus and that it came from something one of our cars ran over. They told me to call everyone I've been in contact with in the last week and tell them to check into a hospital immediately. They then asked me if I had a boyfriend. I said I did. They said he is dead. That he checked into the ER about an hour ago and he died there. I couldn't breathe. And I couldn't believe it. I was talking with him right before then. I called his phone. It just kept ringing and ringing. As it rang endlessly, and I realized he would never answer and that he was gone forever, I burst into tears and felt like my life was drained of all color. I woke up in tears.
