Dancing with my Ex

I was invited to be a dancer in my sister’s theater performance at my old high school. I was excited but also kind of nervous because I created the choreography on my own. I also felt awkward coming back to my old school, however everyone was pretty nice, although I didn’t know everyone anymore because so many of my friends had graduated already. The auditorium looked different and I didn’t really recognize it. I was wearing the white costume I wore for a modern piece I once danced. It was a white crop top with long, mesh sleeves and a long, white, mesh skirt with slits in it. As I was getting ready to perform during a specific scene, I noticed my ex was there to help with the production. I felt even more nervous and awkward. He kept looking my way. It was time for me to perform, but I couldn’t find my way to the stage because I couldn’t recognize the auditorium. I was in this tan hallway with white, stone walls. It was very tight, claustrophobic, and long. I turned to finally go up these stone white stairs to get backstage as the scene was just ending. I hesitated and felt sad that I missed the scene, when all of a sudden I heard a voice in my ear. I was wearing a headset, and it was my ex. He told me to go on and do my dance because we was drawing out the music for me. I did the dance and then thanked him, apologizing for getting lost backstage. He said it was okay.
