Controlled Society Rebellion

I was in a different kind of world, one where the government had much more control over human behavior. It was like a futuristic society, with new technology and buildings that look perfect on paper. It reminded me of the society in the book “Matched.” The issue was that the government controlled most people’s actions, and everyone would do the same thing every single day without realizing it. People weren’t really making choices, they ate when they were told, slept when told, etc. I recognized this early on. I think I obtained a job as a worker on a space craft. Being away from Earth showed me how controlled people were, and that no one cared about it. I met two boys who were on my side about the situation, and we decided to protest (the one boy looked like Ted from the Lorax). We gathered a bunch of people into this bubble that we took into space and declared we would not come back to Earth until the Government promised to do better. People were hesitant about the whole thing, but once I stressed people had robotic daily routines, they agreed. The ruler of our world tried to calm me down, but I wouldn’t relent. Eventually, he became more aggressive and was going to force our bubble back to Earth, and he was going to drug everyone to forget their new beliefs. I was in love with the one boy and turned to him, saying we did not have a choice. My plan was to try as hard as I could to keep my memory intact. The ruler had not seen the boy and he would be able to continue working on the space craft, meaning he would not receive the drug and would come find me back on Earth. We hugged before the ruler asked where I wanted to be dropped off on Earth (for some reason my choices were North American or New Zealand). I remember going through a naturesque scene with the two boys and Toph from Avatar the Last Airbender. We were going through a stream in the wilderness at sunset and everything had a yellow tint. Maybe we were hiding from the government once the one boy came back for me.
