I was making a school

I had this dream where my mom and dad were designing and building a school. I was put in charge of some smaller stuff once the building was put up, like making artsy tiles for the floor and putting up paintings/murals, interior designing, etc. Anyways the dream starts off and somehow the school seems familiar like maybe I had this dream before. It’s not a school I’ve seen in real life tho. But I go and I’m kind of rushed because I have like two days to finish, and I’m working on the tile floors. I’m trying to make a pattern where there’s ‘stepping stones’ in the floor that are a different color and shape, which lead to a room. There’s two rooms on either side near the entrance so I have to make the stepping stones split into two paths. I’m trying to count out how many I need and make sure to preserve tiles since I have a limited amount. I’m also putting them in manually with this glue. I end up making basically a rainbow for each stone, it’s like a pearl kind of: each one is an iridescent circle set in normal white tile floor. It looks really cool. Then, on the wall in between the two rooms, I paint a giant poster with fishes on it and hang it up. Finally, I decorate the interior of the library. It looks like the library from my elementary school but way bigger. The ceiling towers and there’s tons of huge windows to the right. When you go in, there’s bookshelves towering dozens of feet above you with those rolling ladders to reach them, in neat and decently spaced rows. There’s a ton of open space so it’s not crowded. The shelves are oak wood, and already filled with books. To the left there’s a small little checkout desk which is a semi-circle and connects to the wall. Going forwards, there’s some circular tables/bookshelves which show off books like “books of the week” or “top ten scary books” or whatever, all spaced in this nice carpeted area. Then behind them are more bookshelves. Behind those bookshelves are some desks with computers pushed against the wall. If you go even farther back and to the right there’s like this little circular area with comfy chairs and a rug in the middle, a reading area. Past that more bookshelves, some lower down. Little pictures and cool decorations in the theme of ‘underwater’ are everywhere: on the sides of the bookshelves and painted on the walls are little colorful fish; jellyfish lights hang from the ceiling; giant shark and whale plushies sit on top of tall bookshelves, and are situated by the reading area and behind of the checkout counter; and a life-size replica of a whale hangs from the ceiling (with plenty of space below it). The room is just massive and really amazing for what seems to be a kid’s elementary, maybe middle school. Skip forwards in the dream and it’s the opening day. There’s like ten or twenty kids who are going to explore and stuff, check out their new school. The adults have set up a scavenger hunt with little stuffed toys that fit the underwater theme, and I’m in charge of helping the kids when they look. My little cousin is one of the kids and so are my brother and sister. They race into the library and I follow them, still setting up a little, painting a few things occasionally or fixing a book on the bookshelf that’s backwards. It was oddly peaceful in the library, and I went off for a bit on my own to sit in the reading area and read a book. The sunlight streamed through the massive windows on the far right wall, both brightening and warming the room. Kids laughed from far off; not loudly and not in a distracting way. More in the way that you’d expect to hear if you went outside on a nice summer day. The air was cool but not cold, and the sun warmed me up to a nice temperature. Nobody was around me, everyone had gone off to a different part of the library, so I was totally alone, in a decently sized patch of sunlight, sitting in a comfy chair, and totally at peace. This was one of my less-weird dreams. Except for the fact that I was put in charge of making a school. But surprisingly nobody died, which is like a new record for me since my dreams are usually wild.
