Phase one: Standing on the beach in Ocean City, where the water just touches my feet. A large wave forms, of filthy brown water, and it crashes over me and my family. I expect the current to drag me out, but it looked worse than it was. As we walk towards the boardwalk another wave of brown water hits, with the same result. Phase two: I walk through my cousins' beach house. Out back are two boys and a girl. I'm now in a coming of age film and I'm Bill Haverchuck. The girl is suicidal and the three of us try to convince her that life is worth living. We follow the girl up the stairs of a two floor wooden patio deck. The one boy, the sensitive, handsome one among us, asks the girl if she's ever listened to the music of Mount Eerie. This seems like a bad tactic. The girl locks herself in a well in the ground, enforced by a round concrete door. The sensitive, handsome boy realizes his failure and says, "Okay, we messed this up. Now, let's make it right." He proceeds to pull out a guitar... Phase three: I'm with my dad in a place that's a cross between an amusement park and a multiplex theater. I consider taking my dad to see Austin Powers 4, but then I remembered we already saw it and it wasn't good. In the hallway, between the theater auditoriums, are old arcade games. There's a Ghostbusters version of Pac Man, and across from that, a ninja turtles game. Nobody is playing these games and I don't understand why they wouldn't charge pennies instead of quarters for this old crap. I can't get my shirt tucked in. I leave my dad and the theater/amusement park to use a bathroom at an adjoining strip mall. Outside the amusement park looks like a farmer's market. The bathroom in the strip mall is like an elongated locker room. Everything is occupied but all I need is a mirror. The mirrors are covered in mist and I have to wipe one off just to see myself and tuck my shirt in. I start walking back to the farmer's market. I'm on the shoulder of the road, passing by run down strip malls. It's six o'clock so I still have time to go on the rides, but will my dad be up for it? He's probably tired. I've walked too far. I look behind me but I don't see a sign for the farmer's market. I get out my phone to google search "farmer's market near me" but my fingers hit all the wrong keys and it keeps taking to me to an ad for porn. Bonus Round: Between dreams 2 and 3 is a dream I only vaguely remember. It's a place - the creek from Colonial village, and Spook Lane is behind it, illuminated by red light. Later the creek becomes a shopping venue with crates of merchandise floating on its water.
