I was in a smart town house, with my parents. It could have been our old house we lived in when I was a teen, except it was too smart. It was Christmas. The whole town was out celebrating, but I was at home with my folks, alone in my bedroom. I could hear people coming home from the pubs. I looked out my window and saw it was raining. Not ordinary rain, it was pouring down from the sky, continues bucket full. Nothing like real rain. It was way too heavy for real rain. I thought the people outside weren’t having as much fun as I thought. A crowd trudged by, making the usually happy noise of chucking out time, but as I listen there was one man singing a sad popular song. It was about trying to be a vampire for at least a six months of the year, but being to old and tired, he couldn’t keep so alive from taking blood that long. It was a silly drunks song I thought. Once the crowd had passed on a bit, I spoke to my Mum about the rain and the not so happy people. I was worried about them in that rain. She told me not to fret to much. That I couldn’t help everyone that walked past and that they had chosen to go out in the rain. But then I saw a lone woman trying to ride her bicycle home and falling into a large puddle on the corner of the road. She definitely wasn’t having fun. So I told my mum I was going to help and then opened the door. When I did there were other people out there. A work college who was supporting some kids on her own. A couple who seemed to be minders had also been caught out and were sheltering under our porch. I let them all in and went looking for towels. The kids seemed to turn to adults. They filed in and rather rudely found rooms for themselves or pushing upstairs to find bathrooms to get dry. I still tried to tend them and they were appreciative. Upstairs I pushed past them to get more towels to take downstair. As I walked to the kitchen I saw our lounge was set up for Christmas like a very expensive toy shop. We had everything all set up and working, Christmas trees with full decor and sparkling lights, marching toy robots, lots of colour building bricks, two large toy train set and a flock of automated toy helicopters and hovercrafts fly in consist formation about the extending ceilings. I wonder since when had we got all this stuff and since when had we been so into Christmas. But it was all there. Then the room opened up to a garden and summer house again all set up for Christmas with twinkling lights. In the summer house there was more toys and kids playing in there in Perspex transparent suspended bucket chairs with plush cushions. They were having a great time. I went to the kitchen to get hot chocolate. My Mum was already on the case making it at the stove. Two young men caught my attention, they looked shifty and up to mischief. There was something about them that reminded me of my tai chi instructor and one of the younger men who goes there. They had opened all my advent calendar, looked at what chocolate figures I got but not eaten any. I seemed to fall into a trance. When I came too my tai chi instructor had hold of me tuck in of himself in a strong yoga fatal type position. I wouldn’t go into too much detail about the way he was touching and holding me, as it was very intimate and strong. I couldn’t get up even if I had wanted too.
