Pokémon battling AGAIN!

I was in school and me and my friend were fighting. Then one of the girls wanted to Pokémon battle me. I said yes. I forgot what she chose but I chose phyduck,squirtle, and manchoke. When I wanted to release phyduck nothing happened.(there pokeballs are made of foam) I broke phyduck's pokeball into little pieces. I then tried getting another pokemon . The teacher told me not to play around with Pokémon anymore and all of us argued with them.
