Drunk cousin, bad friend

I was at a party and my cousin in law, of whom I have spent time with doing creative photography projects and or drinking, was there. He was getting drunk but being friendly to everyone and a pretty good sport except I knew that he was upset and heartbroken because of his troubles with women, including my cousin, lately for the past few years. He was really drunk and getting ready to leave. One of his best friends, my other cousin In law, who is married to the twin of this guy’s ex wife, (my other cousin) grabbed his face, looked at him in a brotherly way and sent him off. My cousin in law came up to me before leaving and was saying goodbye. I said “hey do you think you are OK to go like this?“ And he said yeah yeah I am fine. That was it. But I did not want to let him leave the way he was both physically and emotionally. Also my other cousin in law, I had this disappointment towards and wondered why he would let this friend of his out of his protection when he was clearly not in a rational or safe mindset. It was like he was just forsaking him and abandoning him, sending him out of his life to die or whatever the case may be.
