I’m in my childhood bedroom when we still had bunkbeds. Blane and a guy (one of his friends or cousins) are in the room with me, talking amongst themselves. Meanwhile, I’m making the bed. My dad comes in the room and he seems really annoyed. He goes on to tell me (loud enough for Blane to hear) “Why don’t you tell Blane to stop being so lazy and to get up and help you?” I’m pissed off that he would say this right in front of him. I defend Blane by telling my dad that he had just got here from a long day of work and that he’s exhausted. My dad begins yelling at me now and admits to me that he never liked Blane and that he’s not good enough for me. I’m so confused at where this is coming from. I ask him “Why would you give him your blessing if you never liked him in the first place?”
