Towering Waves

I was walking on a street next to a building. As soon as I reached a section to turn left, the waves came in an instant. It built itself up and I immediately withdrew and jumped down to a small opening closer to the building. I looked and saw the water brimming at the edge of the ground above me. It didn't move but kept swirling. I was left in fear for how quick and massive the water was.
