Electric Guitar Shopping

I was in a guitar store with my Dad shopping for a new electric guitar. While I was looking through the guitars, my Dad showed me an electric guitar that I found online earlier that I liked. I decided I wanted to try playing it. I needed to find an amp, but instead I came across a very large super fancy entertainment speaker system. It was very cool, but I was afraid that if I plugged my guitar into it that it would mess up, or be super super loud. So I had my Dad turn down the volume on the speaker system as much as possible before I tried plugging it in. I don't remember what happened after that.
