Car Won’t Park

I was driving around with my friend to drop something off at someone’s house and when I got there I put my foot on the brake, but the car wouldn’t stop moving. It slid off the driveway and I had to struggle to get it back on the steep driveway. This time I tried to put the car in Park with the shift and it still wouldn’t work. This time the car slid off and spun in a circle in the street while I tried to wrest control of the car. Eventually I believe I gave up and tried to work with the car’s spontaneity.
