Hotel paranoia

My father and I are in a large hotel. He is paranoid that people are planning to kill him. He instructs us to check every possible surface for bombs. I think that it’s far more likely that his enemies are trying to spy on him rather than plant a bomb. It seems much easier. He gets angry at me and we have a big argument. I leave to go for a walk around the block. I’m walking down the city street, then along a river. The water is high and the path is flooded. The river is yellow and brown, covered in dry grass. We need to climb on shore, cutting through someone’s backyard. They drive into their driveway but keep going, with the front half of the car dangling over open space. I have a red balloon. I pop it on a tree branch and am very careful to pick up the rubber scraps. The balloon keeps its shape, despite being popped. This happens a second time. I return to the hotel with LED bulbs I bought. My father immediately starts to unscrew the current bulbs. I warn him that they are hot and broken. I look at a new bulb and find a chip inside. I try to use the internet to identify it. It has communication capabilities. They claim it’s so hotels can easily identify when a bulb burns out, but I think it’s to spy on people. Maybe my father is correct.
