Dream: Society's Shadows

I don't remember a whole lot in this dream. Just typing what I can remember. The world of this dream had society split in two groups. At least, everyone split in those two groups after they graduated. You would be given dog tags that stated you were either a 'Person' or a 'Shadow' and there was nothing else that stated which you were. Not physically at least. Those labeled 'Person' were the ones with the talent and skill to bring change. They were the high end of society. Every 'Person' was assigned a 'Shadow.' Those labeled 'Shadow' were the protectors, secret keepers, errand runners, and so on of their 'Person.' They were nothing else. Their 'Person' gave them identity and purpose. I was a 'Shadow' and yet no one knew it because of my 'Person.' She treated me as an equal and actively fought to break down the societal barrier between the groups. She hated the way the 'Shadows' were treated. This made her a lot of enemies. Which made me a lot of enemies. One such enemy being a man who captured me thinking she was my 'Shadow' and that I was forcing her to fight this fight. That I was an ignorant 'Person' who knew nothing of the dangers that fighting was bringing to the 'Shadows.' Yet this enemy. This man was a 'Shadow' and he had lost. "You grabbed the wrong one, genius. I'm the Shadow here. She knows very well the dangers but she fights because change has begun and it needs to keep being pushed." I was strapped down into this capsule-like mission. A gas was emitted and I had no way to keep from inhaling it. It made me feel as if I were being electrocuted but I laughed because I knew he had lost. Then I awoke.
