Bear and black panther

It was already dark out. There was a bear in my courtyard standing by the bushes and on the opposite side there was a black panther with her cubs. 4 in total I think. The bear was an intimidating figure even though it was rather calm. It didn't attack but started to move towards me slowly everytime I moved. I was inside the house (safe place) watching from the window. I wanted to save the black panther and her cubs and get them inside the house so I tried to usher them in but she was wary. I couldn't open the door for more than a few seconds because of the bear. One of the cubs was separated from the mother so it was closer to me. I grabbed it and took it inside thinking the mother would follow. It didn't even occur to me that she might attack or something. Eventually they did come inside. So what does this mean?
