I met Lin-Manuel Miranda randomly in public. We talked for a long time. I showed him some of my art. I was intent on showing him this one illustration because I thought it had something to do with Moana (It didn't). He was very encouraging anyway! We went on a walk and ended up in this old house with narrow hallways and paintings all over the walls in ornate frames. I accidentally knocked a couple of them down and had to hang them back up, which was difficult because they were packed on the wall so tightly it was like a puzzle. I remember one of a woman with a 40s kind of dress, dramatic makeup, and dark hair in a beehive, crawling toward the viewer looking scared. Her eyes were really intense.
