Shared Warmth

It was morning time, most likely on a Wednesday, and I walked up to the bench my friends and I usually spend our time at before school starts. Nolan was sitting on the bench for once alongside another guy and both Bella and JoJo were standing in front of them. When I got there, I shivered since I wasn't wearing a jacket. Nolan offered his thick, gray one which I accepted and put on quickly. Soon after, he mentioned how cold his hands were so I suggested he put them in the jacket while I wore it. He did so, hands hovering just an inch from my waist. In order for him to reach, I had gotten on the bench, facing him, and now I was practically on top of him. In the back of my mind, I remembered that Bella was there and would probably kill me for this, but I ignored that though. Nolan then encircled my waist in his hands and pulled my fractionally closer, as if subconsciously. Suddenly it felt like there was no one else around, just Nolan and I. He was my only focus as I wrapped my arms around his neck and pulled myself closer. The air between us was heated and his hand moved up to the back of my neck, almost like he wanted to kiss me. He resisted though, whispering an objection and telling me "don't." I couldn't tell exactly what it was he didn't want me to do, but it seemed like he was saying it to himself more than anyone else. The idea of kissing him briefly crossed my mind, but I dismissed it in favor of burying my face in his neck and reveling in our shared warmth. I didn't stay like that for long before he pulled me back, looking for all the world like he wanted to kiss me. Our faces got closer together, but before either one of us could move to actually meet lips, the bell for the start of school rang. We hurriedly went our separate ways after I returned his jacket and I walked with JoJo to PE, which I also had second period. I was wearing my gray pants and hoped I wouldn't have to change out of them, but a female PE teacher yelled at me to put on the provided shorts.
