The Serval

My partner and I were sitting on a bench across the road from our house, when we spot a big cat prowling across the road. I point it out, in awe. It sees us and races towards us, biting my arm (fortunately doing not too much damage). I defend myself and start to strangle it, then grab it by the back of the neck, and carry it across the road. At the front of the driveway I see two fresh, bloody corpses, a zebra stacked ontop of a sheep. It's a medium sized wild cat. Hmm, not a lynx... I say the cat is an ocelot... wait no, a serval - that's right!* I'm trying to work out what to do with it when I spot an older man who is from animal control. He takes it off my hands. I'm a bit disappointed that I didn't get a photo of myself with the cat, but thankful that animal control was there. The man from animal control approaches an asian lady (a neighbor?) Who had reported the incident. Apparently she's getting a reward. I think she reported it for the reward. Every now and then I look at my arm, surprised and thankful that I wasn't too badly hurt. Where the corpses were is now just a bundle of bones and skulls.** People have gathered and ask questions, some take photos of the bones. To remember my experience, and due to fascination with the bones, I try to take a photo of the bones. It's hard to get a good photo as there are people in the way, but I take a photo which I end up feeling doesn't do the display justice. I consider that the only way that the cat and it's prey could all be here is if someone had intentionally let it go, with animals for it to eat. Probably some illegal ownership. A small black piglet walks past, how cute! Upon seeing the piglet, my partner says what I had been thinking about the cat being intentionally released. We head back to the house, answering questions of a few passersby on the way. I stay in the house for a short while, then tell my partner I want to go back outside to get a better photo and possibly collect the bones. They aren't clean, so I ponder how I'll need a large container (maybe a council bin) to macerate the bones.
