God child

Basically, some guy was the child of a god, and once they reached a certain age, they could choose to go through a trial given to their parents by the big god in charge of things, or split from their parents entirely. Most of the children would choose to go through the trials since it was typically very easy to do. But the character was the child of a 'dark god', so like the god of an 'evil' element like death or something, so their task was near impossible to complete. While other gods would have some wiggle room to determine if their children passed the test or not, this god had to go by the book word for word, so very few of his children ever passed his test. It took basically centuries, but this kid did do it eventually which is p neat.
