Pit rats and dogs

I'm in a dug out pit. Dug out of mud. Square with four straight sides. There is metal rods or pipes around and overhead. A box or something with a lock in the centre at head height. It is locked and there is a red strike match which opens the box. I get the sense if I open the box, then rats may be released, or something else will happen. I decide not to take the chance. As i climb out, and start climbing a red wooden ladder up a steep face, i look down and notice there are 4 other pits with people in dug out in a square arrangement. There is someone else in the pit i was previously in. He lights the match. I am halfway up the ladder. Huge Rats come from everywhere. One bites me on the arm. I grab it with my free hand and try to squeeze it hard so it kets go. It doesn't let go. I pull the rat off. I reach the top of the ladder, and am on a plateau by a cliff edge. There are huge aggresive rats running everywhere. I am walking away to the right along the cliff edge. Lots of rats, but also small pet dogs the are hard to distinguish from the rats. I kick a few rats of the edge. I am wondering whether to kick one. I see a pop up above the heads of the creatures telling me what the creatures are. There are small dogs mixed in with the rats. I don't want to hurt the dogs.
