On the day of my new job things were tumultuous. The night before someone 'fixed' my computer by resetting it back to factory settings. All the stuff in it was lost. The books I was writing. I was furious. I am beset by flying things. I'm in a construction site and trying to deal with that. Its a very bad night. The next day is worse. Somehow I wound up in town without my clothes and had to put on ones I could find. I looked terrible. They were what everyone wore, and it looked bad. My clothes were better but I had to get there so I went anyway. I did look like everyone else now. I saw Sue Sylvester from Glee in a diner ducking to avoid being recognized. I thought my clothes looked a lot like her track suit, except I wore normal shorts and a tee shirt. It was the cut of them, the color, the ugly normality. I get there, to work, and it's on a local cruise ship? Or a cruise diner ship? I'm put in school. I have to be in the choir. I can't sing as well as anyone there. They all sing amazing. I stand there feeling out of place. I get to eat, finally, and getting food is difficult. I'm hearing things. A spirit says that it forgives me. Who? Who forgave me? I ask a girl nearby and she looks askance. Anyway we get our drinks. Its very involved. Fountain drinks here are very involved. My large paper cup gets worn down fast. I keep getting more to drink, but its all watered down my ice and the paper cup is more ruined each time. I also get some smoothies and then try a different soda. I got back to my favorite. Someone is murdered while we're at the soda fountain. I go take a bath. I find a bathroom with a hunchback who looks like he wouldn't care to see a woman naked. He doesn't. He is two people, two little male creatures that glove to bath in the sink. I wear some 1950s piece I picked up recently and it works for a bathing suit in the sink. One of the little dudes loves being under water. He just sinks the moment he gets in there and smiles peacefully as he doesn't move. The female from before takes me to her room. We chat about voice who forgave me and who it might be. We think its a prophesy that days soon ill meet someone. We speculate on who that will be. We freeze, because we heard about the murder and she thinks aloud it was the tribesman chief outside her window doing the gardening. She's sad. She loves them, the tribe, they're her friends. She doesn't want them to get caught. They aren't a people I've ever heard of before. I feel like they are alien and divine. One - her friend - hands us fruit. She bites one in half and gives it to me. Its the most mazing thing. She bites the other and gives it to me too. I have to hold them both in my mouth, so they don't kill me for knowing. Another fruit falls to the floor of her room. Its small and tepid green, like a hard round fruit off a summer tree, but inside its red and bright and bites back and bursts with flavor. Its hard inside too but the fruit lasts for ages while its there. A natural sweet tart but reminiscent of pomegranate in color and texture. Later we exit and meet up with our friend who's like a knight. He takes us back and - well we weren't supposed to go that way - so we sneak back via a moving closet. Its moved while we stand inside and then we're back. At first I think its like an outhouse. Its tall and like a mini house, made of wood with the sloped thatched roof. He stands and we sit on his shoulders. We take our ride back. Up in the top of the little closet is a mini attic. It's just enough to house plants and has an avocado someone left. It has it's own window. For a secret room its really nice. I go to another class. In it I goon a trip and hear all about Alabama. I get a full color documentary vision lesson. So many people who live there. Who have lived there. Its really talked up. People really like Alabama here. Its like mecca or something. Later I'm taken back to the house I'd been staying in, where they tanked my computer. I think a vampire lives there.
