First lucid dream experience

Can't remember most of the dream but here's what I can remember. I was being chased up a ladder by a bunch of people. Maybe infected with something, idk. I reached the top of the ladder and there was this girl standing there. I knew immediately that I wanted to get away from her. I don't know why but I randomly said "I'm dreaming" and it all clicked into place. I forced myself to remain calm and take deep breaths. I tried thinking that I wanted to float up and I started to, but the girl started floating up with me. I tried urging her to stop floating towards me, but she wouldn't stop. I eventually lost my cool and started waving my arm in front of me trying to make her dissapear. I woke up with my arm swinging in the air.
