Letter from my Ex

I was with my mom and one of my brothers when she said, "Oh by the way this came in the mail for you." She handed me an envelope. I opened it up to see that it was a letter from my ex, who broke up with me exactly one year before today. In the letter, he was apologizing, he realized and learned so much, and he wanted me to contact him. It made me very happy and I got very excited. I was really looking forward to telling him about everything that I've done in the past year. When I woke up and learned it was a dream I felt very sad and empty.
