Bizarre tennis meet

I was going to a tennis meetup, which was the first one of the year. When I got there, I saw everyone with tennis rackets and sneakers, which was when I realized that I forgot my tennis racket and I was wearing the wrong shoes. I forgot my tennis racket...when going to a tennis meet. I was under the impression that we wouldn’t need the rackets. Also I remembered I needed to bring a doll or stuffed animal to the meet for some reason. I told someone I didn’t have a stuffed animal, and they gave me a plush doll that was supposedly sacred or really special. I was nervous to hold the doll because I remembered it’s value.
