This was my first sleep paralysis and it was scary. I went into our personal family library in our backyard to straighten up a bit and I became sleepy so I went to the recliner in our library to take a light doze. I had a dream I did not understand and when I woke up something was off, like seriously I can feel that something was off. The first thing I noticed is that I couldn’t move my body, second I felt pressure in my chest like some invisible force was pushing my chest in and my throat started to feel dry. It also felt like someone was trying to strangle me slowly. The door opened and I heard a loud hiss. I tried to scream but it felt like it was too much effort. I tried to do what other people said about moving your fingers and try to move other body parts but that was hopeless for me. I caught a glimpse of a shadow in the doorway and I shut my eyes tight and tried to scream for help. I managed to call for help but my voice was strained and I kept trying with my eyes shut. I felt someone wrapping their arms around me while whispering to me that it was ok. I opened my eyes and I saw no one, then the hissing started again. I panicked again and I finally woke up. That was my first sleep paralysis and I hope it would be my last
