I had a very realistic, first-person dream about fixing my violin. For like a week now the bridge has been tilting, not too badly but bad enough to be noticeable. But because I’m me, and I love to procrastinate everything, I’ve been putting off fixing it. In the dream I finally sat down, sighed, and did it. I untuned all of the strings and held the bridge up flat, then retightened the strings and tuned them. It was hard with only two hands, I had to prop the violin on my lap while holding the bridge and turning pegs with the other. My mom came in and started yelling at me for ‘breaking my violin’ because she didn’t understand what the loose strings meant, she thought I had broken it, and I was annoyed because I had to explain it to her while trying to retighten the strings at the same time and my hands kept slipping when I was holding the bridge in place so I kept having to redo it all. This dream was so vivid I’d almost swear it was a memory but when I woke up, my violin’s bridge was still crooked.
