A Year in Germany [8/01/19]

I found out that my family was going to Germany for a whole year. I believe in the dream it was because of my mom’s work, but my mom only has to work in our country (USA). She doesn’t do international stuff. Anyways, I was excited, nervous, and sad. I’ve always wanted to visit Europe and possibly live there, but I didn’t want to leave my friends and family here. I was really scared, too - I was going to be living in a country across the Atlantic for a whole year! And, I had to leave my schoolwork and friends behind. I was really hoping that I would be able to learn German while we were there - after all, my uncle learned Danish after spending a year in Denmark, and my step-aunt learned German as well - and I adore languages. IRL, I study French and Russian (primarily French) so I thought it would be really cool to learn German. Anyways, the dream was pretty short - despite it feeling really long at the same time - but it mainly consisted of family gatherings before we left, talking to my friends about it and all that stuff. We never even got to Germany!
