Future city

I’m traveling to a future city. We’re in a car on a road, driving fast. This part of the city is still relatively quiet, with trees and businesses in old houses. The driver points out various shops. Now we’re on the highway. It’s incredibly fast, 10x faster than any real highway. The driver manages all the turns but it feels like we’re going to skid off. The highway is miles off the ground. We take an off ramp, which is a vertical drop. There is no more road, but the driver keeps accelerating. At the bottom is a cylindrical tower with a dozen branching roads. The driver says he’s waiting for a moment to merge. We drive into a suburb of identical houses. All the other passengers yell “L.A!” We’re driving at a reasonable speed now. There are a few stray cats on the road who fly away like pigeons when we get close. The road is lined with grassy embankments and rusting cargo containers. At one point I’m told that this city stretches across the ocean, from LA to Tokyo. It has a clever acronym I can’t remember.
