Glowing Eggs

Level: 🔴🔴🔴🔴🔴 A bunch of my friends were at my aunts house. Having a meeting i assumed since we were in her garage transformed into an office with bullet proof glass walls. I seemed to be the head of some kind of organization. One that required that level of safety so it must have been something pretty dangerous. I cannot remember what was spoken at the meeting or what was the outcome or at least what the meeting was about. But suddenly something was going on outside. We heard yelling and gunshots. We were being invaded yet we were safe in our bullet proof room. The intruders opened the garage door and we could see them through the glass. They were coming for me and my team. The door unfortunately was not a door that could be locked which is quite stupid if it’s supposed to be safe but that’s how most of my dreams work. One of the guards was holding down the door but he was unable to hold the strength of 5 men with guns. He was the first to be shot. It was about 10 of us down there and the intruders managed to kill of 6 of them. We were scared for our lives and had nowhere to run in this glass room. We had no choice but to do as we were told. I recognize the men. They were my cousin and a bunch of his friends. ALL COMPLETELY MAD! We were ordered to say down there for some time while they decided what they would do. We were down there for days being fed nothing but eggs once a day. These eggs they would place in a cylindrical glass cup lined with something like parchment paper and filled with water. The longer you’d leave the eggs in the water the brighter they’d glow. Pink and blue but you couldn’t eat them just yet. You had to remove them from the cup and use the paper to dry them off. At this point they’d turn into a dry pink flower still beautiful but completely drained. We were feeding on flowers for who knows how long. It was finally the day we were being let out. They had decided to just end us there. But we had already devised a plan. I was going to pretend to be young and dumb. Inexperienced and innocent enough for them to take pity on me. My friend would play the fun type to make friends with them. While the other two would play a couple who were just struggling to get by. We were brought upstairs while they waited with their guns. We had to talk to them and we were pretty good at this. I began crying and complaining of only being 16 with so much left to do. My friend she did not hold back and was already sitting on one of the guys laps. While the couple just held each other ready to accept anything that was coming. Hours had passed and it was starting to clear up. The gunmen had decided that they would give us a less painful offing. We’d walk to the end of the yard and then they’d shoot us. That way we’d have enough time to be prepared and we wouldn’t see it coming. We obliged since it felt like our last option. My friend was quick to notice the end of the yard had a wooden gate with a few missing bars. She said we could get out from there and without thinking twice about it we pushed our selves through. The men were running towards us but we managed to get out all four of us. We needed to hide. We ran into town and into a random bicycle store. At this point there was only me and my friend the other two had gotten lost or run into another store. We asked the Asian running the store to let us run upstairs and hide. He hesitated but let us through. I then realized I had my phone with me the whole time so I called 911. The women on the phone said she was busy. I told her I was in danger and she said she doesn’t have time for April Fools jokes. But I reassured her it was no joke and that I had missing for a few weeks. I then realized I had been through so much with my friend and I did not know her name. She said it was Veronica. The 911 operator knew by then I was telling the truth but she couldn’t send anyone over yet. It was another half hour wait. We walked out of the store hoping to find someone who could help us. And I decided to call my mom. She wasn’t surprised to hear me. She said that while she noticed I was gone she didn’t think much of it and just thought I had been busy the past few weeks. I told her to come for me and she did. Veronica and I were separated on the way home but we were still not fully safe. Those creeps were still out there. I got home and explained everything to my mom in tears. I pulled out a few eggs and showed her what we were being fed. As if second nature to me I had gained an attachment to the eggs and flowers. They became a symbol of the days I feared for my life... And that is about the only dream I’ve ever had that has had anything close to a conclusion. THE END
