dog nightmare

i had a dream that i basically lived all of my long life with this dog, who was indeed my best friend. he was there with me thru it all and one day he was running with me w/o a leash and he saw someone he recognized driving on the street and he bolted to them & little did i know that there was a car coming and it hit him & he died. i screamed and ran to him with his blood on my hands. it was terrible. i woke up in tears.
