counting fingers reality check

Usually when I get lucid I like to count my fingers as my reality check since just looking at my hands doesn't help deciphering if I'm in a dream or not anymore and when I count my fingers I always end up with more then 5 on one hand and today I became lucid and decided to spend more time on this reality check and so I carefully counted but I kept getting 8 fingers even though I was counting slow and carefully each finger
