I guess I must have been in college or something but it didn’t feel like a college; it felt more like a camp or something. There was this massive building that, instead of a door, had a big entry way like there was supposed to be a wall there but there just wasn’t. There were countless bunk beds lined up on the left wall and a lot of carts with makeup brushes and pallets in them. For some reason we were expected to take some out everyday and bring them back but I don’t know why. Everyday people would file in and out of the building. Outside was just a long forest path that at the end of it was a convenience store where I worked. I think I was still new and I was doing well until I said something to my manager that she didn’t like while i was on one of my shifts. Two people I had gotten acquainted with came in while my manager was “reprimanding” me (there was this group of cords coming from the ceiling and the manager would tape them together in certain areas to show who was in trouble at any given time. I think there was something about the cords we needed to do our job but I don’t know.) After those two left, I was clocking out when my manager asked if they were looking for a job and I told her I’d ask them (because it was implied that that would put me in good standing with her again). Then something got us talking and I said something along the lines of “yeah I always say if it’s a good enough joke and no feelings get hurt-“ but she cut me off like she was disappointed again. I ran to catch up with the girls and we were just chatting for a bit before we got back to the building and I asked them if they were looking for a job. They both said yes so I ran back to the convenience store to tell my manager and set up an interview. When I got there, she asked what their availability was and when I said I didn’t know because I had forgotten to ask, she yelled “So you ran all the way here for nothing?!” So I ran back to ask them about their availability and I got about half way before remembering that I had their phone numbers and could just text them the question but I woke up at that point.
