That's No Rainbow!

It started with my family and myself looking at this rainbow. It was unique because it was in the middle of winter and everyone marveled at it. That's when they began to pull out their cameras. I ran inside to grab my Mother's Boyfriend's camera, (Jeff) while my little brother - Payton - took pictures with a cheap camera. When I turned to look at the sky; the rainbow was bone and it was replaced with the Northern Lights. I said: "Look! It's the Aurora Borealis!" and it was so vivid with bright specks. Seconds later, It turned into some small clouds and Payton was like: "It's Aliens!" The clouds began to get bigger and bigger with dirt and debris. (The clouds kind of reminded me of the spaceships from "Independence Day" when they entered the atmosphere.) Everyone stood there; Transfixed; until my Mother yelled: "Get inside!" (Before she yelled, there was a sound in the background that sounded like a bomb going off.) We were still outside... ~ I woke for a moment. ~ And we were trying to figure out what to do. I thought of an underground strategy - Like in the basement - to protect us from the blast that was getting closer. Suddenly, We had one - Jeff; My Mother's boyfriend - started putting in these codes into this panel that appeared on the side of the house. Something happened; and I was putting in some other codes... or something. Everyone began to gather things from inside and Jeff Yelled at me to get inside. I began to throw these concrete steps aside but I woke before we got into the bunker.
