Framed for Murder

I dreamt I lived in Canada. Somehow. I was framed or it looked like I murdered someone. Everyone was so sure I murdered this guy, that I ran. I ran for a long time. I lived in the woods and forged for food. After about two weeks, I ended up hiding at a families house. The family was having a reunion and I hung out in the side of the house where the kids were. They didn't question who I was and I got to eat actual food. This break from running didn't last for long. One of the adults came to get their kid and recognized me. I threw something at the woman and while she caught it, I ran out of the house. I was running through a soccer field that was near the house when I noticed a cop car pull in. I recognized the man driving it as the sheriff who had been relentlessly pursuing me. As soon as he saw me, he jumped out of his car and ran to me. When he got close, he got into a fighting stance. He told me that it was time to fight but I continued running and said that this has nothing to do with fighting him. He stood there stunned for a moment before running to catch me. Luckily, I knew the guys who were playing soccer on the field. They knew I was innocent and wanted to help me. The guy that I was closest with ran with me while the other went to go distract the officer. My friend and I ran until we got to a highway. It was a very busy street but I knew we had to cross since the cop was gaining on us. I suddenly knew that I was acting out "one of my favorite childhood movies". I had taken the place of the protagonist who was supposed to be a guy. I also knew the whole plot. In the original, the protagonist was supposed to fight the cop when he was provoked. I also knew that my friend would get hit by a truck as we tried to cross the street. With this new knowledge, I called for him to wait a second before he crossed. This moment of hesitation was enough to prevent him from being hit. We both crossed the road but the other side was a hill much to steep to climb. We decided to run instead of try to climb it. Right as we started I felt a hand roughly grab my shoulder. I was spun around to view the cop who had been chasing me. My friend noticed I wasn't behind him and turned and ran back to help me. He ended up being caught too. Time skip and I was in the police station. I was sitting outside a room beside my friend while the cop talked to someone in the room. I noticed other guys I knew had gotten arrested too. Suddenly one of them stood up and revealed he didn't have handcuffs on. He undid mine and told me to come with him. My friend asked where he was taking me and he told us that he was taking me to a friend called Mr. Lee who lived in America. I told my friend that I knew this new guy and I trusted him. We had to leave my friend behind since it would be easier to escape and he would be fine. The new guy and I ran out off the police station and towards a road. I was constantly checking behind us the whole run there, but we weren't being followed. Once we were there, an oncoming truck pulled off to the other side of the road. The guy pulled me towards it saying it was our ride. We got in the back seat and I looked at the driver. It was a girl around my age. I knew in the story, she would also die. I wondered why this was my favorite movie when so many people died. I decided I would change her fate too somehow. Time skip to America. We arrived at the house and I was sitting at a table waiting to meet Mr. Lee. An old man walked into the room and smiled as he sat down. I knew he was Mr. Lee and he explained who he was and that he wanted to help me. He didn't believe I could have murdered anyone. It was so nice to have a safe place and to stop running. I looked malnourished and skinny from all the running and lack of food. I knew how the rest of the story was going to go. I knew the cops would come find me even though Mr. Lee had a trap door I would hide under. In the original movie, the protagonist didn't have enough time to hide. I stood up and asked if I could go ahead and hide in the trap door. Mr. Lee was surprised that I knew he had a trap door but he gladly let me hide in it. As I hid in the space, I thought about how the movie was going to end and how I would change it. Before I thought too much, I heard the cops come under and start searching. Even though I was well hiding and there was no way the cops could have known there was a door under the rug, they knew and wanted to check. I thought it was because the movie had to progress. So I was found and two cops escorted me out of the house. The next course of the movie involved the protagonist, the driver girl, and the new guy running away yet again. I decided to change the course of the movie. I boldly walked with the officers, deciding I could prove my innocence in court. I noticed that I knew a lot of the people by the car. One was my friend from before and another guy who was supposed to be the protagonists rival from school. It was at this point I talked to the rival about my concerns. I told him that I had changed the course of the movie. I knew in the end the protagonist would propose to another girl he would meet along the way and I couldn't do that. For the first time in the dream, the rival acknowledged that I wasn't the normal protagonist and that the movie would have to change. I was thankful that I had someone who knew and sympathized with me. I fell to the ground out of exhaustion, which worried my friends. I said I would be alright eventually and I continued to talk to the rival. The dream ended after I talked with him for awhile.
