I was on a shoot but we were like up in the mountains and there was deep snow everywhere. I’d gone inside this little cabin to warm up but I was annoyed I was missing the shoot so I got my shoes back on but it took me so long to put on my boots that by the time I was done they were wrapped. So I go outside anyways with my camera and my boss is like FINE we’ll go with you. So the crew follows me out and I’m like vaguely remembering a specific area I wanted to get a photo of. It’s miles away but it only takes us a little while to traverse the landscape so it goes pretty quick. But was we approach the edge of the mountains we’re on, we see it’s like all the mountans are just sticking up out of the water so if you fall off a cliff you plummet straight into water. In the distance we can see there’s like all these castles and towers built on the tops of these mountains and I remember one in particular I wanted a photo of. So I just like beeline for it but soon realize that it’s a couple islands over and then I remember that when we were scouting the location, the only way we got over was to vault over on a gigantic branch like Luke did in the new Star Wars. By the time I’m remembering this, I’m like perched really precariously on the edge of a cliff and I’m like, shit I can’t get there. I’d forgotten last time I kept dying and respawning but this time I have my camera so I can’t do that for some reason. But the ledge I’m on starts breaking and I don’t want to fall in the water because it’ll break my camera so these two girls from the crew are trying to help me up. One grabs my hands and I hold my camera in my teeth but we all slip and fall in. I manage to not go completely under water and my camera doesn’t get submerged so I’m happy and I start swimming with one arm, holding my camera up with the other. Some how we end up in an area where the water is really deep but there’s like buildings and destroyed houses in the water. I swim up to a wall that has like a dresser up against it so we’re gonna like hold on to that to rest. I go to hand my camera to one of the girls again but I’m holding it with my teeth again by the eye piece and she grabs it by the lens. The lens pops off and the eye piece pops off and the body of the camera just plunks into the water. So I’m like FUCK so I dive under and it’s not actually all that deep. I find it but it’s like waterlogged but simultaneously full of dry dust. So I open a drawer in the dresser to stand on and examine it and one of the girls is like, “It’s ok we can bring it to [the photo shop near me] and have them look at it.” So we swim over to a sales counter and this guy looks at it. Suddenly I’m on dry land. The sales guy is like, “Oh yup I’ve seen this before. This could either be really bad or not bad at all.” So he cracks the body open and he’s like, “Yeah, you’re fine except the LCD display is shot. You can still use the camera but only through the eye piece and a lot of professionals don’t like that. It really limits their vision and makes it harder to see the demons in your peripherals when you’re just looking through an eye piece.” Suddenly the mall I’m in is full of Doom demons. I have to shoot at them all but I only have my hands so I’m like finger gunning at them. Some of them are giant crabs so I’m like “Grenade launcher!” and I like make the motions of pumping and shooting some kind of giant pump-action grenade launcher but I still don’t actually have a gun in my hands and it’s not doing any damage. Then I realize they’re also not actually attacking me, they’re just like wandering around attacking nothing like really stupid NPCs. Then a filter like comes up over my vision because we all died and we can’t play anymore. Aaaand then I woke up.
