Conflict with the natives

I was part of this big group of people who were colonizing this place or whatever. ( we were legit just called “The White People” it was ridiculous) The natives really didn’t like us (understandably) and so there was a lot of conflict and warring between the groups. I offered to be a “spy” by pretending to get captured by the native people and then convince them to end the violence. This is what I told my people, but really I just didn’t want to be associated with them anymore and I wanted the native people to know that we didn’t all hate them. I was a really good actor, and when there was a big conflict between everyone the natives tried to use me as a bargaining chip. I got some of “my people” to kick me and whatnot, saying they didn’t want me back (because I needed more time to gather intel, was my reasoning). I ended up falling in love with one of the natives and we weren’t sure how we were going to hide it or if we should just run away, but I woke up before I found out.
