Awkward moments at black prayer

I was working at some kind of outdoor event in a giant park with concrete and trees. It was a sunny day. Standing all over the park were black people, mostly men, in suits. I was assisting on the production side of things and was just outside the area. A main preacher was speaking and when he brought on a moment of silent prayer, everyone kneeled and I turned off the sound. Then I came into the area to join them in their prayer. (I was the only white person.) I attempted to kneel, but there was cat poop, as well as a cat, right in front of me. I attempted to step around the cat to kneel, but it was insistent on not letting me. So I just crouched as best I could and bowed my head. Seeing my awkward position, an elderly black man ran to where I was and stood over the cat, facing me and crouching with me so that I would not appear so out of place. Then I woke.
