I was there on my own. I walked through the crowded streets. I was supposed to find a fire extinguisher cabinet but every time I thought I found one it was a picture of one. I was staying in a small mom and pop hotel and the owner was very nice. I had tea. All I wanted to do was go to the Shanghai tower and go to the top. It was so tall in the skyline that it distorted itself with the curvature of the earth. I did go in it but could only go up a dozen or so floors. The decor was very futuristic, black and shiny. On the street I saw a rich Hispanic couple give a blank check to a Chinese child. Back at the hotel, someone was trying to set up a tent in the tiny courtyard grass but the tent was too large. I spilled a cup of tea on a blanket and the owner helped me clean it up.
